Descripción

Chicago 2005. Victoria McPherson, agente del FBI en Chicago, investiga un caso de asesinatos en serie: cinco muertes infames sin vínculo aparente. El estancamiento de la investigación y el estrés acumulado comienzan a agotarla. Victoria decide tomarse un descanso en casa de su padre aprovechando el período de las fiestas de Navidad. Sin embargo, en lugar de hallar el sosiego esperando, descubre un viejo baúl que pertenecía a su abuelo Gustav McPherson. En el interior, un diario íntimo que data de 1929 revela otro caso de asesinatos en serie, con similitudes inquietantes...
