Curiosidades

  • Blue Ice es una aventura gráfica pensada para que el primero en descifrar el código final se llevara un premio, pero todo quedó en agua de borrajas y en un juego delirantemente difícil.
  • El juego es famoso por no tener ningún tipo de pantalla final, secuencia final o cualquier indicación de que lo hayas completado. El objetivo del juego es encontrar las pistas necesarias para descubrir la "Solución definitiva", una frase secreta de dos palabras; Originalmente, el juego fue diseñado como una competición, y el jugador podía ganar un premio si enviaba la solución adecuada a los autores. A los desarrolladores se les ocurrió la manera perfecta de evitar que los jugadores piratearan la pantalla final: simplemente no pusieron ninguna. Como efecto secundario, el juego ganó la reputación de ser muy difícil o imposible de completar, ya que no se sabe de nadie que haya llegado al final.
  • La música de fondo en Blue Ice presenta pistas con licencia de Brian Eno, Robert Fripp, Orbital, Duke Ellington, Future Sound of London, Paul Schutze, The Grid, Tangerine Dream, David Sylvian y Cold Storage.

Instalación

Preinstalado

En el foro dispones de versiones preinstaladas donde sólo tendrás que descomprimir y ejecutar:

  • Basada en DOSBox y la versión CD.

Windows XP

  • Funciona correctamente en Windows XP, animaciones y sonido correctos. El instalador funciona muy bien y genera un icono para lanzar el juego.--cireja 00:23 23 sep 2013

DOSBox

  • dosbox.conf:

Instalar entrando en D con Install y elegir 4 para el idioma español.
Después de la instalación hay que cerrar el DOSBox y volverlo a abrir, sino no funcionará el juego.
Arrancar el juego con BLUEICE, tal como indicaban las instrucciones en pantalla.
Al arrancar nos saldrá la primera vez la configuración de sonido, elegir Creative Labs Sound Blaster or 100% compatible para el digital audio driver, eligiendo ajustar la configuración automáticamente.--cireja 00:23 23 sep 2013
