Issue: When launching Hoodwink, my screen flickers for several seconds and returns to normal but Hoodwink does not start. What’s wrong?Solution: There are several possibilities. Please ensure you have downloaded Hoodwink game patch from this website.We only keep the latest patch here to ensure all the users have the same patch. The patch is cumulative, so all previous patches are combined into the latest one which is made available here.If the problem still persists, please follow the standard troubleshooting below:A. Check if your PC has the minimum requirements to run Hoodwink.Please refer to the Readme_hoodwink.txt file from the Hoodwink installation folder for minimum PC requirements.B. Check if you have a SM3 (Shader Model 3) or higher capable graphics card.* Option 1: Check using the ‘GPU_SM_TEST.exe’ Download the SM Tool from the link below: http://www.hoodwinkgame.com/game-support/fixes/GPU_TEST.zip Make sure Hoodwink and any other programs are exited. Extract the file ‘GPU_SM_TEST.exe’ and run the tool. Note: Under Windows Vista and Windows 7 please run the tool as administrator. If the installed graphic card on your PC is compatible, you will be prompted with the screen as below.Note: You may receive ‘SM3 pass..OK’ but not for SM4. This is still compatible.If an incompatible graphic card is detected, the ‘GPU_SM_TEST.exe’ tool will exit without any results.* Option 2: On Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7, launch DXDIAG Click Start -> Run and type ‘DXDIAG’ and press Enter. Wait until all checks have been automatically completed. Click ’Save All Information…’ and save as ‘yourname-dxdiag.txt’ and send it to usvia email attachment at support@hoodwinkgame.com.Ensure you type the subject of the email as ‘Hoodwink Game Support’.We will review your configuration file and revert as soon as possible.
