Descripción

¡Ven al reino donde la magia es real!

Kyrandia es una tierra de oscuros bosques misteriosos y dragones adormilados. Un reino de fantasía donde los rubíes crecen en los árboles y la magia abunda. ¿Quién iba a imaginarse que una tierra tan idílica conduciría al asesinato?

Algunos cuentan que el bufón de la corte, Malcolm, estaba loco desde un principio. otros dicen que lo que le hizo enloquecer fue su ardiente deseo de poseer la Kyragema y poco a poco perdió la razón llegando a esclavizar el pacífico reino del rey William, el único protector de la poderosa piedra preciosa que es la fuente de toda la magia en Kyrandia.

Como legítimo heredero del reino de Kyrandia, debes perseguir al escurridizo Malcolm para poder recobrar la Kyragema. Sólo entonces podrás reclamar el trono y devolver la armonía a la tierra de Kyrandia.

  • Traducción al español para la versión CD a nivel amateur por Rodrigo Steinmann. Traducción items por raycool.
  • La versión CD añade voces y soporte para Windows 3.x (aunque sea completamente idéntica a la versión DOS).

Transcripción de intro

En la versión CD hay una introducción que no tiene subtítulos. Esta es la transcripción de lo que dice: 

Malcolm the Jester has broken free!
He now controls the Kyragem, source of all the magic in Kyrandia.
Once a favourite of the court, he killed the king and seized the gem.
Imprisoned by the Royal Mystics, Malcolm was held for eighteen years,
But now, the Mystics' spell has slipped
And vengeful Malcolm enjoys free rein

traducido sería algo así: 

¡Malcom el Bufón ha escapado!
Ahora controla la Kyragema, fuente de toda magia en Kyrandia.
El una vez favorito de la corte, asesinó al rey y robo la gema.
Encarcelado por los místicos reales, Malcolm fue encerrado por dieciocho años,
Pero ahora, el hechizo de los místicos se ha desvanecido

Instalación

Preinstalado

En el foro dispones de versiones preinstaladas donde sólo tendrás que descomprimir y ejecutar:

  • Basada en DOSBox y la versión CD.
  • Basada en DOSBox y la versión disquetes.
  • Basada en WinUAE y la versión Amiga.

DOSBox

  • dosbox.conf:
[autoexec]
mount c D:\DosGames
imgmount d "...ruta...\Kyrandia1.iso" -t iso
C:
cd WESTWOOD\KYRACD
KYRACD
- Entramos en D: e instalamos normalmente con Install.exe, eligiendo idioma francés. Aceptamos todo con Enter. En la configuración elegimos SoundBlaster en ambos casos. Al finalizar salimos de la instalación con la opción 3 (Sortir de préparation).
- Tras la instalación cerramos el DOSBox y copiamos todo el contenido del parche de la traducción descomprimido sobreescribiendo todo en la carpeta WESTWOOD\KYRACD. Luego hacemos lo mismo con la traducción de los items.
- Inicio de nuevo y el juego iniciará solo, ya que hemos puesto las instrucciones necesarias para ello en el apartado autoexec del dosbox.conf.--cireja 21:12 21 sep 2013
