Descripción
Ariane, una joven e intrépida periodista, acepta realizar un artículo sobre el volcán Sneffels (en Islandia) para publicarse en la revista en que trabaja. Dicho volcán es famoso por ser la puerta de entrada que usó el profesor Lindenbrook para bajar al centro de la tierra en la conocida novela de Julio Verne.
Lo que parecía ser en un principio un apacible safari fotográfico se torna tragedia cuando tras haber aterrizado en un pequeño saliente, un desprendimiento de rocas destroza el helicóptero. Ariane se encuentra sola en medio de la nada, sin aparente camino de subida. Y en este punto es cuando tomas control de sus actos.
Nuestra heroína bajará a los profundos abismos de la tierra, descubrirá nuevas razas, conocerá nuevos amigos, y se verá envuelta en una oscura trama sobre una guerra en la superficie (nuestro mundo) en la que ella es la única capaz de desenmascarar a sus autores.
